A person who manufactures or imports existing chemicals equal to or more than 1 ton per year shall notify Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) of use information, amount, etc. of the chemical substance by June 30th, 2019 to receive the grace a period for registration.
In failure to notify by the deadline, its manufacture, import, use and sale are suspended after July 1, 2019 and the person shall undergo the registration procedure to manufacture or import the substance.
Therefore, every manufacturer or importer shall keep inventory of their chemical substances to manage the manufactured or imported quantity.
Data requirements to submit for pre-registration
Late Pre-Registration
Any person who intends to manufacture or import existing chemicals over 1 ton after 2 July, 2019, due to new business, can apply for Late Pre-Registration. If a person proceeds to Late Pre-Registration before manufacturing or importing of existing chemicals over 1 ton, he or she could get a corresponding registration grace period based on the tonnage band. Requirements for Late Pre-Registration is the same as it is for Pre-Registration.
