They both hazard assessment and exposure assessment (using measured value or exposure assessment model) for workers are performed to produce HQ (Hazard quotient). To confirm the risk management measure for workers is appropriate, RCRs for non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic should be less than "1" and "10-6", respectively.
1. Hazard assessment for workers
Toxicity criteria for workers such as DN(M)EL, RfC(D), ECR and etc. may represent more enhanced standards than those of general people since exposure frequency or exposure time is more persistent.
2. Exposure assessment for workers
The amount of exposure from chemicals to the worker is estimated through either working environment monitoring or exposure assessment tool as ECETOC TRA.
There are basic and optional parameters to assess workers health risk with ECETOC TRA, such as process category (PROC), industrial/specialized use, Physio-chemical properties, working conditions, DNEL value and etc.
